Year 6

This half term in Forest School the children have been creating shelters, gardening, crafting and taking part in lots of productive imaginative play.  They have had the opportunity to create beautiful works of art with Leslie, inspired by nature as well as making their woodwork plans come to life with Graeme.  We have been discussing ancient Mayan Culture including some traditional stories and their fascinating number system.  Year 6's interest in Pokemon has been channelled into their imaginative creations and games in the woods including some super clay figurines.  The children have particularly enjoyed using the trees to test their physical coordination and problem solving, even managing to tie a swing into the trees themselves with the help and advice of Mrs. C-B and their classmates on the ground below.  The rain in this last week restricted us to being indoors so we made den designs for after the holidays and created human skeletons (including labels and organs) with natural objects. Well done Year 6.
