Safeguarding

At Blofield Primary School we ensure that every child who is a registered pupil at our school is safe and protected from harm. This means we will always work to:

  • Protect children and young people at our school from maltreatment;
  • Prevent impairment of our children’s and young people’s health or development;
  • Ensure that children and young people at our school grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care;
  • Undertake that role to enable children and young people at our school to have the best outcomes.  

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) is Mrs Sarah Barber and the deputy DSL's are Mrs Teresa Doggett (Headteacher), Mrs Sarah D'Rosario (School Secretary), Mrs Coates (SENCO) and Miss Tims.  If you have any concerns regarding the safety and welfare of children in our school, please don't hesitate to contact us.  You can call us on 01603 713386 or email office@blofield.norfolk.sch.uk.

If it is outside school hours and you have a serious and immediate concern about a child please call the police.

Operation Encompass

As a school, we take part in a jointly run operation between Norfolk County Council, Norfolk Police and our school, called Operation Encompass.  Encompass has been set-up to help schools to provide support to children who have been present at incidents of domestic abuse and violence. We know that children can be significantly physically or emotionally harmed when they are involved in, present or witness to domestic violence.

The school will receive a confidential phone call from Norfolk Children’s Advice and Duty Service before 9am or as soon as possible thereafter on the morning after any domestic incident which Norfolk Police have recorded where a child at their school has been involved in, present or witness to domestic violence.

The school has designated Teresa Doggett and Sarah Barber as Key Adults. Our Key Adults have received training from Norfolk County Council to allow them to use the information that has been shared to make sure that the right support is available for children and their families who have been involved in or witnessed a domestic violence incident.

We are keen to offer the best support possible to our pupils and we believe this is going to be
