Welcome to Blofield Primary's School Council Page

Our aim is to make sure that all children in our school feel heard and that their ideas, thoughts and feelings truly matter and can help shape the wonderful learning environment that is Blofield Primary School. We are keen to listen and share ideas from individuals with the rest of the school in order to ensure simple thoughts can blossom into real changes in the school. 220 minds are better than 1, and that's why we make sure school council includes everyone.

From cloakroom competitions to meetings with other schools to discuss 'the rights of a child', the school council stands proudly as a hero for all members of our community.  

Exciting news!

Our new houses have been announced! All Norfolk rivers, Bure (blue), Yare (yellow), Ant (red) and Chet (green). 

Children our now able to earn house points for their new houses, if they finish the day on silver they earn one house point and if they end the day on gold they earn two. Children could also be awarded bonus house points for a stand out piece of work.

These points will be added to a house point class chart at the end of the day. At the end of the week, two year 6 children will collect the points for each house and add them to a whole school display in the hall. 

These rolling totals will be built on each week and should serve as healthy competition! There will be a reward at the end of each term for the house with the most points.

Events such as sports day and the swimming gala will also contribute this system. 

Our Focus

We are looking at our school environment this term and how to make it better, we have already started litter picking and plan to find other ways to make our school a cleaner place. 

We have also been thinking about Blofield's houses. They are currently named: 'Nightingale', 'Nelson', Churchill' and 'Cavell'. We have decided to update these and have changed them to different Norfolk rivers. We voted on the names and these will be revealed to the school soon. 

Democracy is one of our British values and all of our school council reps were elected fairly by their peers.
